My husband, who has a Mac mini, always shuts down his computer in the evening, about an hour before going to bed. I have a Mac laptop, and I usually leave it on. I disconnect the power cord, and turn off the power strip. But I often wake up in the middle of the night, and frequently sit down at my laptop and surf the net for a while.

I usually turn off my cell phone on my commute home from work, and often leave it off, using land lines at home and the office. My husband leaves his cell phone on all the time: he's the primary contact if anything happens to his father in assisted living.

I do not unplug my gadgets. Usually I use them right up until I go to sleep... That is when I plug them in and we all recharge together. I am thinking of my bluetooth, phone and Mac.

Some of my things I unplug after every use, like kitchen appliances.

I would like to get a separate power strip for the DVR so I can leave it on all the time and only power up the TV, game systems and receiver as needed.

I sure do. It helps me sleep better! (and reduces energy consumption - yea!)
