ohmygod, i SO have monkey mind today! i’m all over the place, and instead of getting frustrated, i’m going to write down where i take myself out of creativity, and explore creativity in that area.

Hello Gwen, Patrick, and everyone else.

I’ve been a Zen is Stupid listener for almost a year now. You two have inspired me to get off my butt (on at least two or three occasions) and do what makes me feel good. Live my life. Kudos!

Today’s prompt was appropriate because I recently wiped my mind clean on everything I knew about meditation and started practicing Zazen. After years of meditating using visualizations and mantras I had no problem keeping the monkey mind at bay. I realized that my meditations were distracting me. As soon as I was sitting with nothing to imagine or say, my concentration went completely haywire. And thank you Patrick for your instructional video on how to practice zazen. It got me started.

The article was cool and what I took away from it was the term ‘firm kindness’. It just kind of stuck with me.

Anywho, I’m digging the new project.
